Two women, refugees from ex SFRY, celebrate New Years Eve in one rented basement somewhere abroad. One of them is a typical gastarbeiter, who starves and try to save money on everything. She has just one goal and that is to make big house in her birth place, three floors high, so everyone could envy her!!! She hides money from her roommate and she’s not embarrasses to loan cigarettes, coffee and food... Second woman is totally different, real book lover. She doesn’t work at all, nothing at all. All day long she is sleeping and reputedly writing a book, a great one. Just, that book is never to be finished.
Two totally different characters forced to live together, forced to tolerate situation which they didn’t deserve, spend their life, fostering the hope about coming back home and living a better life. What two of them can do?
This whole story would probably be sad if they didn’t found a bottle of expensive, foreign alcohol. After the first sip on an empty stomach, the celebration begins!
