Center for Cultural Decontamination in conjunction with Belgrade’s Women in Black invites you to attend the Belgrade premier of the film "Let There be Light", film that documents good-deeds carried out across ethnic lines during Bosnian War
monday, 11.may 2009.
19:00, CZKD

This documentary highlights three stories of cross-ethnic heroism during the 1992 – 1995 wars in Bosnia, and presents an interesting alternative counterpart to the processes of transitional justice currently in place throughout the region. The stories presented remind us that even in the midst of war’s tragedies there are moments of heroism and hope.

After the screening, a round-table discussion featuring several Belgrade-based scholars, journalists, and activists will take place, followed by an interactive question-and-answer discussion period for the audience. The film’s creator, Dzemal Sokolovic, a Comparative Politics professor and founder of the Institute for Strengthening Democracy and Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be in attendance to introduce the film, and to take audience questions about and responses to the film.

"Let There be Light" will be shown in the local language with English subtitles.
